Question: Is Yacolt on a sewer or septic system?
Answer: The residents in the Town of Yacolt are on septic systems. A General Sewer Plan was developed in 2008-2010. This General Sewer Plan was adopted by the Town Council as of March 2011 in case of future need.

Question: Do I need a building permit to build a shed, garage, fences, etc. on my property?
Answer: Yes a permit is required and can be obtained at Town Hall or you may click here with a simple one-step application. Also click here for building permit fee schedule.
Question: Is natural gas available in town?
Answer: No
Question: Do we pay the Town for water?
Answer: No. Clark Public Utilities is responsible for billing and collecting payments.
Question: How many chickens and/or roosters can a household have?
Answer: Eight (8) chickens and they must be caged and cared for by the owners. One rooster per household is an option, with the consent of your neighbors.
Question: Who enforces animal control within the town limits?
Answer: Clark County Animal Control and the Town of Yacolt have an inter-local agreement that asks all residents to contact Town Hall to report dogs at-large, cat problems and any other abuse or neglect. Clark County Animal Control is the law enforcing agency.
Question: Do you need a business license for a home business in the town limits? If so, is there a fee?
Answer: Yes, a business license is required for home businesses. The fee is $35 a year. See the Town Clerk or click here for additional details.
