Can we ride WATVs in the Town of Yacolt?

According to Yacolt Municipal Code [YMC] 10.25 only riders with a valid drivers license (age 16 or older) may operate WATVs in the town limits, and only when the WATV is properly licensed and registered as described by Washington State Law. All other traffic laws apply. 

Is Yacolt on a sewer or septic system?  

The residents in the Town of Yacolt are on septic systems.  A General Sewer Plan was developed in 2008-2010.  This General Sewer Plan was adopted by the Town Council as of March 2011 in case of future need.  Contact Town Hall for a listing of licensed septic companies 

Do I need a building permit to build a shed, garage, fences, replace my roof, etc. on my property?

Do we pay the Town for water?

No.  Clark Public Utilities is responsible for billing and collecting payments.

How many chickens can a household have?

Up to eight (8) chickens, upon Council approval, and they must be caged and cared for by the owners.  

Who enforces animal control within the town limits?

Clark County Animal Control and the Town of Yacolt have an inter-local agreement that asks all residents to contact Town Hall to report dogs at-large, cat problems and any other abuse or neglect.  Clark County Animal Control is the law enforcing agency.

Do you need a business license for a home business in the town limits?  If so, is there a fee?         

Yes, a business license is required for home businesses as well as any contractor, business or subcontractor doing business in Yacolt.   Contact Town Hall for all Home Business questions and see the Business & Development tab for additional information. 

Are public bathrooms available in the Town Park?

Yes, there are public restrooms in the Yacolt Town Park. The restrooms lock automatically, however due to weather, vandalism or damage the restrooms may be locked at any time.
