Seasonal Part-time Maintenance Worker

Salary: $16-$22 DOE

The Town of Yacolt is seeking 1 to 2 seasonal part time maintenance workers for 15-20 hours per week to join our Public Works Department. This position will remain filled through September depending on available work.

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing routine duties for the maintenance of town streets, right of ways, sidewalks, parks and general facilities. Duties may include but are not limited to:

  1. Parks maintenance, trail building and maintenance, invasive weed removal, restoration and planting.
  2. Water, mow, weed, trim, and renovate lawns.
  3. Rake leaves, clear debris and pick up litter from walks, fields, parks and other facilities.
  4. Clean, empty garbage cans, clean and sanitize park restrooms and other facilities.
  5. Operation of motorized and non-motorized equipment such as mowers, weed eaters, small tractors, small power equipment and hand tools.
  6. Help at Town events on occasional weekends and evenings.

Qualification Requirements: 

High School diploma or equivalent is required. Background in parks maintenance and landscaping is prefered. Ability to work outside in all weather conditions. Lift a minimum of 50 pounds. Ability to work and communicate effectively as part of a team. Take the initiative to get work done with a positive "can do" attitude, take direction well and be a fast learner. Use tact and good judgment when responding to the general public.
